Hello Marius! Welcome to Wikitravel.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page.

If you need help, check out Wikitravel:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub.-- Sapphire(Talk) • 03:52, 12 May 2007 (EDT)

[edit] Fortaleza

Hi there. I deleted the links you added because they are non-primary links. The map links in particular are discouraged because we want to have our own maps here on our site-- the idea is that these pages can be printed and taken along while travelling. Please have a look at our external link policy. If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask! Texugo 01:16, 12 October 2008 (EDT)

Well, as for map links, that is just the long-standing consensus we have arrived at via the discussion here. Personally, I don't like them anyway, because it encourages people to put in a messy-looking link for every single restaurant, hotel, and attraction in an article, which could potentially mean dozens and dozens of links to Google Maps within even a single article. Do feel free to contribute your thoughts there on that discussion thread though if you really feel like the issue needs to be revisited. And with regard to the way links print out, I hear you-- I made a suggestion here a while back that we have them print out as endnotes rather than have all that URL texts interspersed in a printed article where no one likely needs it anyway. Please voice your opinion there-- I'd like to see that get some attention. Texugo 22:52, 13 October 2008 (EDT)

Due to the header, I'll add this here. I want to say thank you for your fantastic work on Fortaleza, you seem to be very genuine towards the city of yours. I learnt lots--seems interesting. A party capital, city of 2.5mill, capital of a state, beautiful beaches, high prostitution, vibrant, cultured. Very nice description. ZOMG meteor on the prairies yesterday!!edmontonenthusiast [ee] .T.A.L.K. 17:56, 21 November 2008 (EST).
