Hello!

Welcome to Wikitravel. If you want to specialize your experience you may want to consider editing your preferences. Please take a second to look at our copyleft and policies and guidelines, but feel free to plunge forward and edit some pages. Scanning the Manual of style, especially the article templates, can give you a good idea of how we like articles formatted. If you're new to the whole wiki community look at the Wiki markup to get an idea of how to use the wiki markup. If you need help, check out Wikitravel:Help, and if you need some info not on there, post a message in the travellers' pub. - Andrew Haggard (Sapphire) 10:31, 30 June 2006 (EDT)

Images[edit]

Would you please upload your images to Wikitravel Shared, which is where we upload all of our images so that they may be used on every Wikitravel language version. Also, please read over the image policy. Thanks! -- Andrew Haggard (Sapphire) 19:32, 2 August 2006 (EDT)

I found it very confusing navegating between Wikitravel and Wikitravel Shared - they seem to operate as two completely separate entities. In fact, I couldnt find a quick way of returning to Wikitravel after having a brief look around Wikitravel Shared. And when adding images in the past, I've always just clicked on the link "Upload File"... are you now saying that this is not how I should be adding images? Would appreciate if you could clarify this. Thanks. Ixer 22:22, 7 August 2006 (EDT)

The reason we don't like uploading images on this version of Wikitravel is because none of the other language versions of Wikitravel can use the images. If the only problem you're having is going back and forth between EN and shared the best thing to do is this: when going to Wikitravel Shared click the link underneath the logo on the left hand side of the screen. When you want to go from Shared to this version (EN) type: http://www.wikitravel.org/en and that will take you back to EN. Otherwise when you're on Shared click Recent changes and under the search bar on the left hand side of the screen click on the link that will take you to the English version of Wikitravel. Does that make any sense or do I need to reword this? -- Andrew Haggard (Sapphire) 23:03, 7 August 2006 (EDT)
