[edit] Canada WikiMAP book project

Wondering what wiki site would be best to show the details of this map being made. Would it be appropriate to show the actual pages of the book on this site? So then users can go ahead and update the pages, if they want.

Would that be ok?

I'm not entirely sure I understand your question, but Wikitravel:How to create a map has information about creating Wikitravel-style maps using OpenStreetMap data. Thanks, actually i was just looking at that page. and a look at http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/User:Use-it/Map_of_Copenhagen_for_Young_Travellers would help, if you havent seen that already. And yes, having a set of standards would be awesome. (and essential)

Well, to put it simply. Im making a mapbook, which is like the wikitravel guide book, but all it has is the maps (from openstreetmap) showing all of canada, with the zoomed in tourist map shown on the opposite page, showing the route in detail. So it has no discriptions, just shows where things are. .. so imagine a guidebook.. but rip out all the pages which dont have a map on it... collect all those pages, and bring them together, bound as a book. ie. The trans canada trail guidebooks are great to have. .. yet, when using the maps out of them to navigate, it's VERY difficult. I am re-creating those maps which are in the guidebooks, yet making them better, showing the OpenStreetMap cyclemap layer, and including these special wikitravel tags and markers just as it shows on the Use-it maps http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/User:Use-it/Map_of_Copenhagen_for_Young_Travellers, and the http://map.oneplanetsutton.org/

So, creating this map book here... on wiki travel site, or should i create it on a google page? and invite collaborators, or a google docs page (and invite colaborators), where i have open collaboration. .. I am using open office Draw to make the outline. So far im just using screen shots, to get an idea of how it should be.
