Hi, I am the Wise Eagle. I hail from London. I love to travel and share my experiences and advice to others.

My recent travels include Italy, France, Egypt, Israel/Palestine, India, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and the amazing Philippines, as well as a few others along the way.

  • Best overall country: Italy
  • Best scenery  : Vietnam, Philippines.
  • Best city  : New York
  • Most beautiful city : Florence
  • Craziest city  : Cairo, with Ho Chi Minh a close second.
  • Most beards  : Tied between Jerusalem and Amritsar, India.
  • Worst city  : Hurghada, Egypt- what a s**thole, so says everyone that goes too.

  • Friendliest locals  : Philippines
  • Most annoying locals: Luxor, Egypt

  • Best food  : Naples, Italy. With Indian and Thai food rating highly
  • Worst food  : Philippines outside Manila.

  • Best hotel  : Jolly frog, Kanchanaburi
  • Worst hotel  : Nefertiti Hotel, Aswan, unless you like sleeping with cockroaches.

  • Closest shave  : Being on a train behind the one that blew up in London in 2005
  • Worst bus journey  : Puskar-Agra sleeper.
  • Temple count  : Over 150
  • Best place for a date: Venice
  • Worst place for a date: Picket's Lock industrial estate and gas storage facility, UK
