Derek M. Strout was born in Bar Harbor, Maine and has called beautiful Mount Desert Island "home" for all of his 23 years. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Vermont in Burlington, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Geography.

He has lived in Sydney, Australia and his recent travels include:

  • Quebec, Montreal and Nova Scotia, Canada
  • The Australian Outback and Great Barrier Reef
  • Viti Levu, Fiji
  • The North Island of New Zealand
  • Provence and Paris, France
  • Monaco

  • A month of finally getting lost in his own country with his girlfriend
  • Explore the Great Bear Rainforest of the Pacific Northwest
  • Kayak among the Galapagos Islands

Derek is currently a Travel Agent Assistant at Accent Travel in South Burlington, Vermont.
