Hi, my name is Mark.
I was born in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, UK, and lived in a number of villages the other side of the Essex/Suffolk border for the first 18 years of my life. My travel during this time was solely in Europe and mainly in France, primarily with my parents. I then went to the University of St Andrews, Fife, Scotland to study mathematics, including a year at the University of Bayreuth, Bavaria, Germany. During this time, in common with many, I inter-railed around Europe.
After graduating, I joined one of the "Big 4" accounting firms and have travelled rather more since - both for work and holidays.
I am now a resident of Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan and have been in Japan for the last four years.
