Um…where to start?

I list my real name as RD, my first and middle initials. I was born and raised in Eastern North Carolina.

I’m a recent college graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Currently I’m recareering after deciding not to follow one of my former department’s advice and go out into the world to “act.” (I have a BA in Dramatic Art as well as English.) I blame disillusionment and lack of involvement in my drama department for my recareering decision. I did want to be a photographer, but I decided to go against an impulse that led me to apply to photography school. (This impulse lasted for about six months, if you must know.) I’m currently waiting for more information from culinary school to begin a career as a chef.

Despite going to a school with one of the highest amounts of undergraduates going abroad to study for a semester or so, I never went abroad, focusing too much on trying to graduate on time. I have never been overseas in my life.

The only states I have been to are Maryland, the District of Columbia, the South Carolinian border and Florida. In the future I plan to get a passport and finally go to Madrid or Italy or somewhere in Europe.

I am currently working on improving the Miami and Chapel Hill articles. (And I love the irony that I delete stereotypical descriptions from a section and an editor accuses me of vandalism, but I've "blanked" parts of the Miami article until I've figured out a way to improve them, like the Understand article.) I hope to branch out and improve the Miami/South Beach article to the best of my ability. Any help I can get with any of these articles (or Miami Beach!) is appreciated.

Online I have a WordPress blog, another one I’ll update sometime when I feel like it, an account on Wikipedia, a Last.fm account and a Flickr Pro account.
