Hi, I'm Shaund and I'm an on-again, off-again contributor and admin here at Wikitravel.

If you hear a rumour that it doesn't snow in Vancouver, it simply isn't true. Some years. View from my living room, Christmas Eve 2008.

The Winter Olympics came to Vancouver and a bad case of spring broke out.

Wikitravel

Mostly I stick to what I know and work to improve articles close to home. This includes:

• Vancouver and other articles in the Lower Mainland - where I live and someday I'd like to see the region at guide status
• Wikitravel:Routebox navigation - finished the Trans-Canada highway; would like to do New Zealand and South Africa
• pretty much any other place I've travelled to (or want to travel to)

Maps

I also have a mild obsession with maps and like to add them to Wikitravel as time permits. There's still the regions map expedition to complete and I'm slowly working on getting maps for Canada's top level regions and provinces.

Travels

I like to travel, but that's currently on hold. New home + home renos = no big vacations (unfortunately).

Most of my early travels focused on Canada, the U.S., New Zealand and Australia. More recent places I've been to include southern Africa and central Europe. Some of my favourite places are Whistler, Wanaka, the Coromandel, Western Australia, Victoria Falls, Ljubljana, the Julian Alps, Vienna, Sossusvlei and Cape Town.
