Welcome to my user page! Name's John Perry. I'm interested in planning, transit systems, maps, baseball, photography, wikis, and of course, traveling.
[edit] Administrator
I am an Administrator for Wikitravel, which basically means that I'm a regular member who is trusted by the community just enough for me to have a few extra tools for editing, like deleting and protecting pages.
[edit] Administrator's Promise
I swear to uphold the rules of Wikitravel, to help resolve disputes between members, to delete spam and vandalism wherever they may occur on our fair articles, and to help make this website the best and most up-to-date travel guide in the world.
[edit] Secret Administrator Handshake
Well, I can't show it to you, can I? Then it wouldn't be a secret!
[edit] How's My Driving?
I may be an administrator, but that doesn't mean I'm never wrong. An administrator is merely a voice of authority for certain situations, not a guide to how to edit pages. So feel free to question any of my edits/decisions/actions, because you have just as much a say in the matter as I do. After all, that is the idea behind Wiki software - free and open to all.
I always appreciate constructive critism, or just plain critism if you feel like it. This website is for the world, and each of us can help mold it.
[edit] Projects
My focuses shift with my travels and just my general interests, but I mainly focus on places where I've lived at some point in my life. I have done work on articles across the American Southwest, and after a trip to San Francisco I took a serious interest in that fine city. In fact, I'm the editor for the Wikitravel Press book for San Francisco.
