Smithers: Located 68 km (42 mi) east of Hazelton, on Hwy 16, and 370 km (229 mi) west of Prince George, with a population of 5,800 residents, is the alpine town of Smithers, the perfect spot from which to explore the surrounding wilderness. In the winter, enjoy first-class skiing, and in summer, enjoy horseback riding and hiking, both at Hudson Bay Mountain. Experience hiking to Crater Lake, passing through beautiful scenery and seeing the Telkwa Mountains to the east of the community. Enjoy golfing on the town's two 18-hole golf courses.
