"Dosanko" is the name of a small but spirited and strong horse, originally from Hokkaido. It's also a popular nickname for those born in Hokkaido. I wasn't born here, but have lived in Hokkaido for seven years, and now consider it to be my home, hence the name.

I'm not a native speaker of Japanese, despite what my name might suggest.
