Tumkur district is an administrative district in the state of Karnataka in India. The district headquarters are located at Tumkur. It is around 70 kms from Bangalore.

Tumkur is well connected by road. National Highways NH4, NH205, and also the State Highway SH33, SH48 and SH94 pass/originate from here.

Temple of Narasimha at Seebi
  • Temples - Visit the numerous temples in Tumkur. Some of the popular are listed below.
    • Temple of Narasimha - The temple is situated on the Tumkur-Sira road at distance of 30 km from Tumkur. The terrakota and frescoes of this temple are of 18th century.
    • Aralaguppe Temple - It is located 6 km from Banasandra railway station. It is a famous Kalleshwara temple in the Ganga-Nolamba style of the 9th century A.D. Its ceiling has wonderful dancing Shiva sculpture with musical accompanists and eight Dikpalas surrounding him with all their paraphernalia.
