From Wikitravel

This template should be used to tag images (on the pages where they are currently in use) that have been nominated for deletion.

The template accepts two parameters, both optional.

1. The name of the image, it is used to link to the correct section on Votes for deletion. If not supplied the link will simply point to the Votes for deletion page.
2. left|right - To determine the placement of the vfd notice on the page. Defaults to right
