[edit] The Awakening
- The Awakening. At the end of Haines Point is a large statue of a man emerging from the ground. Parking during off-peak hours is plentiful, otherwise, it's a bit of a walk (about 1.5 miles) from the Jefferson Memorial. There have been threats in the past of removing this piece of art, so see it while it's still around!
I took out this listing, since the beloved statue has been dug up, in preparation for a move to the up-and-coming "National Harbor." When it gets there, we should move this listing there too. --Peter Talk 00:13, 28 March 2008 (EDT)
