Can someone translate this article about public transport:

Is this still needed? The data seems a bit outdated. Let us know. Thanks. Sandy. —The preceding comment was added by Sandypurwo (talkcontribs) 03:43, 4 April 2011

Regency vs City[edit]

There is also an article about the Semarang (regency). I am not sure if these two articles should be merged, or if the regency is something different, such as a region that contains the city. -- Huttite 06:38, 15 December 2009 (EST)

Done... the regency page is redirected to the one article titled "Semarang". —The preceding comment was added by Sandypurwo (talkcontribs) 16:48, 3 April 2011

'The city's name derives from the Javanese words "asem" and "arang" which literally translate to "scarce tamarind." ' This is a folk etymology. I have seen no proof of this. Better delete. 180.254.83.152 06:12, 21 March 2016 (EDT)
