Rename[edit]

Should this be renamed to just Pole of Cold? -- Tom Holland (xltel) 06:16, 6 October 2006 (EDT)

As there are two separate places, I'd suggest Oymyakon, which is what the article mostly talks about. The fact that it's a Pole of Cold can then be a nice Discover tidbit. Jpatokal 06:23, 6 October 2006 (EDT)
Better, I think, to go ahead and treat it as a region within Yakutia, if anyone ever gets around to writing a Yakutia article. (Someone should eventually; Yakutsk itself is worth writing up.) Then the various little villages like Oymyakon that compete for the "world's coldest city" title can each have their article within the region, and duke it out among themselves. There's precious little to write about tiny, freezing Yakut villages. I definitely think we've gone the right direction in combining them into this one article. --Peter Talk 22:23, 14 August 2010 (EDT)

Copyvio removal and redirect[edit]

I have removed the copyvio text from the article and redirected again. If someone else has a better solution, please plunge forward. -- Tom Holland (xltel) 17:25, 15 October 2006 (EDT)

I, in turn, re-redirected it to the current page. This one ought to suffice; it's a real region that's worth an article. I think the copyvio language is gone, but someone might take a look at it to make sure I got everything. -- Bill-on-the-Hill 17:46, 15 October 2006 (EDT)
