North America[edit]

Anybody who knows about nordic skiing in North America, a contribution would be much appreciated, having never skiied in North America myself I do not know how anything works over there and even if cross-country is practiced, please plunge forward--HJ.Phillips94 14:24, 11 March 2009 (EDT)

I'm not terribly knowledgeable on the subject, but while downhill skiing and snow-boarding seem to be much more popular in the the States, cross-country skiing and to a lesser-extent telemark are both fairly common. New England and the Sierra Nevada (and probably many other places) have a vast number of cross-country trails, and I've seen groomed trails for cross-country at a few of the resorts around Lake Tahoe. -- Ryan • (talk) • 14:45, 11 March 2009 (EDT)
