I wonder if List Of Airline Baggage Limits is a bit too wordy and potentially restricts what could be an excellent article about Airline Baggage. Would a shorter title make for a better article? As it stands the article is probably misnamed, as it is essentially about free baggage limits. In reality, this is not a limit but merely the point at which airlines start charging to carry your accompanying baggage as paying cargo, rather than including it in your ticket price. The real limit is the aircraft's carrying capacity which is based on the all-up weight of the aircraft, including passengers, cargo and fuel needed to get to the destination safely, not exceeding the airframe design limits. On some aircraft and routes there is tons of extra capacity for air-cargo, on others even the passenger's weight is critical. - Huttite 04:19, 17 May 2009 (EDT)

Agreed—As soon as I saw your edit on recent changes, Airline baggage came to mind. The baggage should not be capitalized, though, but that's an extremely minor point! --Peter ^Talk 04:34, 17 May 2009 (EDT)

Airline baggage is a wider subject than I envisaged, but yes there's no reason not to expand it and have this table as a section of that article. Andyfarrell 18:08, 10 August 2009 (EDT)

"Fundamentals of flying" and realities about content are rendering this article quite marginal, e.g.,:

• "Fundamentals" covers the topic quite well except for lacking references to specific, useful web sites offered here.
• Much data for this topic is becoming extremely dynamic by...
  • Airlines frequently changing baggage allowances and fees.
  • Exceptions/variables generated by smaller aircraft and certain regional or city destinations.
• Question marks and missing entries in the table indicate the great challenge to ensuring it accurately states current information.

That challenge has generated more than one commercial web-site (two already listed) that have active staffs dedicated only to that end. Even with that effort, their bottom line often suggests travelers go to each airline's web site for final data. They often give links to that end.

Meanwhile, I've made edits to add caveats about careful use of the table and a link to another luggage limits web site. hennejohn 3:20 PM EST 4Feb2011
