One hump or two? Camel safari out of Jaisalmer You can avoid tourist gridlock by opting for one of the smaller outfits. Thar Safaris [Jailsalmer Rajistan conducts tours off the beaten track in the Thar desert, a 50 km jaunt by jeep outside of the city. Food is plentiful, the stars are ablaze and guides are helpful. Dress warmly the desert is cool especially if there is a night wind. Management is friendly and helpful and speak good English.
