When I was in Hobart last year the Antarctic Attraction at Salamanca Place was in Financial difficulties and I have since learnt that it has closed down having gone bankrupt. No news on any replacement as yet.

[edit] Drink additions 2/5/2006

Added some more pubs to the Drink section. I'll try to add more to this section if time permits. A couple of the snazziest venues are missing from the Bars section - the Quarry and the Telegraph.

Restaurant section could use considerable improvement. For a city of its size, Hobart (I'm not a local, by the way), has a fairly impressive drinking/dining scene.

Salamanca Markets operates on Saturdays. Island Markets at Moonah are the largest indoor markets in Tasmania - open Friday to Sunday.
