The Getty Thesaurus give Pusan as the preferred form of the name. [1]. --Evan 11:19, 20 Aug 2005 (EDT)

Wikitravel:Romanization (which was, admittedly, written by me =)) says Revised Romanization wins. I think {B,P}usan is sufficiently obscure for the average reader that there's no compelling reason to stick with the old romanization, a Google test for English results gets 629k for Pusan and 534k for Busan. All official literature, signage etc in Korea has been using the B-form exclusively since 2000. Jpatokal 11:28, 20 Aug 2005 (EDT)

I went to Busan last year, and locals (and most Koreans) say "Pusan" to me!!

That's presumably because, like most of us, you can't tell apart an aspirated and unaspirated plosive. Jpatokal 08:07, 8 July 2007 (EDT)
