Talk:Busan
From Wikitravel
The Getty Thesaurus give Pusan as the preferred form of the name. [1]. --Evan 11:19, 20 Aug 2005 (EDT)
- Wikitravel:Romanization (which was, admittedly, written by me =)) says Revised Romanization wins. I think {B,P}usan is sufficiently obscure for the average reader that there's no compelling reason to stick with the old romanization, a Google test for English results gets 629k for Pusan and 534k for Busan. All official literature, signage etc in Korea has been using the B-form exclusively since 2000. Jpatokal 11:28, 20 Aug 2005 (EDT)
I went to Busan last year, and locals (and most Koreans) say "Pusan" to me!!
- That's presumably because, like most of us, you can't tell apart an aspirated and unaspirated plosive. Jpatokal 08:07, 8 July 2007 (EDT)
Anyone have thoughts on the first picture? There are much better shots of the city than the port. I have some pictures of the city from Haeundae, from the Gwangan Bridge and some other good ones. Any objections? 220.77.95.44 21:30, 13 November 2009 (EST)
