  • Hualien County is to the north with many highways and a railway.
  • Kaohsiung is to the west. However, the Southern Cross-Island Highway (Provincial Highway Number 20) is closed mid-way since 2009-08-08 due to the Typhoon Morakot [1], so you have to take a very long detour via the South-Link Highway (Provincial Highway Number 9).
  • Pingtung County is also to the west via the South-Link Highway and the South-Link Railway.
