Syros is in the Cyclades group of Greek Islands.
Syros ia a beautiful island off the normal tourist track. Ermoupolis, the major town of 13 000 people, is the centre of government for the Cyclades. The majority of people do not work in the tourist industry. Syros is the place to visit to experience authentic Greek island culture.

There is daily ferry service to Athens and less frequent service to near by islands. Service varies with the seasons of the year. An airport has service to Athens.

Syros is small enough to enjoy by foot or bicycle. Taxis are also available, and the local bus service is cheap and reliable.

- Walk the narrow back streets of Ermoupolis and discover the city's charm.
- Hang out in Plateia Miaouli, one of Greece's best public plazas.
- Walk to the Holy Church of the Resurrection of Christ to view the opulant interior and splendid views.
