Sutton is a village in the Eastern Townships located in the south-east of Quebec.
Sutton is located on Route 139 about 90 minutes south-east of Montreal via Highway 10, or 80 minutes north of Burlington, Vermont via Interstate 89. Veolia (1 877 348 5599) provides a 110 minute bus service to and from Montreal which runs twice a day, dropping off passengers at the gas station in the center of the village.
The village is small enough to walk around, there is no public transport. Most services and restaurants are located along rue Principale. From the center of the village rue Maple winds up to Mont SUTTON, a 5 minute drive. The ski resort provides a shuttle service between the village nd the mountain during the winter on weekends and school break weeks. There is a taxi service - inquire at the Tourist Office on rue Principale opposite the Town Hall for details.
Cross country ski and snowboard enthusiasts are well catered for at pleinairsutton.cooplocated half way between the village and mountain. This is also the location for Arbre Sutton, a tree top adventure park. Cyclists can enjoy quiet, scenic dirt back roads or paved roads including La Route Verte, a Quebec-wide cycle network, which passes through Sutton.
Rue Principal, the main road running through Sutton's center, is lined with shops of all kinds, including clothing stores, art stores, restaurants, and souvenir shops.
For a small village there is an excellent selection of restaurants and foodie outlets all located on rue Principale. Food tends to be of good high quality and reasonably priced.
Nicer dining (still casual but more expensive)
In the village there are two bars - The Sutton bistro and the cozier Pub Mocador. In addition many of the restaurants also have bars where you can have a drink without eating notably Le Pleasant, Auberge D&K and Auberge des Appalaches.
