Sukapura is half an hour (24 km) from Probolinggo and one hour (18 km) to Cemoro Lawang at the crater edge of Mount Bromo.

Located at an altitude of 850m, with average daily temperatures 15-20°C, Sukapura is high enough to be refreshingly cool but not outright cold.
