Strömstad[1] is a city in Bohuslän on the west coast of Sweden, close to the Norwegian border. While only home of 6000 people, it is for historical reasons often referred to as a city.

Timeekspressen[2] has 6 daily departures to Oslo, leaving on top of the hour, every two hours between 8 and 16. Swebusexpress[3] buses also stops here on their Göteborg - Oslo route.

There is about 4-5 daily departures to Göteborg by Västtrafik[4]. In the summer the Swedish Railways (SJ) runs a X2000 express train to Stockholm twice a day.

There are serveral ferry's every day across the outflow of the Oslo fjord to Sandefjord in Norway with a Color line ferry[5]. The previous connection to Langesund was discontinued in December 2008.
