Steinbach is a city of 13,500 people in Eastern Manitoba. It makes a good day trip from Winnipeg. For tourists, it is most notable as a town founded by Mennonites, and while the city is largely modern, traces of Steinbach's Mennonite past can still be found. A few conservative Mennonite groups still make the city home.
Steinbach is small enough to walk or bike but, if the weather disagrees with you or if you are in a hurry, you can take your own car or Steinbach Taxi for a small fare. (584 Main Street, 1-204-326-9937)
