St Thomas[1] is a city in Southwestern Ontario.

The principal claim-to-fame of St Thomas Ontario is that it was where the famous elephant, Jumbo, met his death in 1885, when he was hit and killed by a train - you can see the statue commemorating this even at the west end of town.

  • The Old English Church, Walnut Street, [2]. The oldest Church in the area. Surrounded by the graveyard, it sits in the older section of town, undisturbed by the modernization going on around it.

  • Quai du Vin Winery, just outside St Thomas, [6]. Great place to visit - don't miss their "Reds, Whites and the Blues" Wine and Music Festival in August 2008.
  • Railway City Brewing Company, in downtown St.Thomas [7] at the corner of St.Catherines Street and Curtis Street, just behind City Hall. Brewery Tours available, with samples of our finest. Brewers of Fine Ales including our Iron Spike Blonde and Iron Spike Amber.
