Kaili, Zhenyuan and other towns in the northern part of this region are more accessible due to the Xiangqian Railway. However, the road standard in the southern counties is rather poor. A new airport is built in Liping to serve some short flights.
From Guilin, there are busses to Sanjiang near the Guizhou border, and from there on to Congjiang.
[edit] Get around
Though many new roads have been built, some villages are still quite isolated and only can be accessed by walking. However, the essence of local culture in this area often hides in these remote villages.
