Along with Khumbu, the Solu region has been a very popular destination for trekkers. However, in the mid-ninties the area fell under Maoist control, and it has since suffered a great decline in tourism. However, there have been no reported incidents of foreign nationals being harmed in the region, though a donation to 'the cause' is usually requested.
