[edit] See & Do
This calm and beautiful town on the road to Banjul is an excellent place to take a pirogue and visit the Shell and Bird Islands. There are campements (bed and breakfasts) and hotels which can organize expeditions into the mangroves for fishing and island visits. With the NGO JOKKOO, you can have the opportunity to spend a night or several with a local family and discover family life in Senegal. You can visit the wrestling stadium and watch the wrestlers compete for the title of champion. An old peanut port, there are picturesque warehouses that are slowly crumbling with time along the edge of the mangroves. Each Wednesday there is a looma, a weekly market, where you can observe the economic and social culture of rural Africa. Or you can take a dip in the salty water of the Delta or a stroll under the huge African Mahoganies.[edit][add listing] Buy
