Slănic (occasionally Slănic Prahova) is a town in Muntenia.

Understand[edit]

Located about 100 km north of Bucharest in the hilly area near the Carpathian mountains, Slănic is a spa town known for its salt mines and lakes.

Get in[edit]

By bus[edit]

There are frequent minibuses from Ploieşti (40 minutes - one hour travel time) and several daily buses from Bucharest (two hours and half); some of their schedules are available on autogari.ro [1]

By train[edit]

Slanic is reached by a railway, but trains can't actually enter the town because of a damaged bridge; instead they stop about 10 km away in Poiana Slănic (which is linked with Slănic itself by minibus) .
