- Srebarna Nature Reserve (Природен резерват Сребърна) — Lying about 18 km west of Silistra and 2 km south of banks of Danube, close to the village of the same name, this nature reserve surrounding a quite shallow lake (3 mt of depth at its maximum) which is an important stop over point for migratory birds, is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The reserve also houses a museum which exhibits stuffed animals typical to the area.
