• The most significant fact about Sidmouth is the week-long international Folk (Music) Festival that takes place every summer. The event is remarkable, but free activities are becoming increasingly scarce, limiting its appeal for those unwilling to pay to enter concerts or buy expensive crafts-goods from stalls and markets. Nevertheless, during the festival, the bustling seafront promenade, thick with musicians performing for change or simply for pleasure, is an enjoyable experience for all.
