Sicamous [1] is a city in Shuswap region of British Columbia. It is situated on the eastern end of Shuswap Lake and is known as the Houseboat Capital of Canada.

The town is located at the junction of the Trans-Canada Highway 1 and BC Highway 97A. Driving from Vancouver, it a little past the half-way point to Calgary.

This community is a perfect spot to spend a vacation, a great rest stop on your long drive or even a day trip. Come and experience “The Lakes” by canoe, boat, sea doo or even on a luxurious houseboat accommodating 6 to 24 people. Water-skiing, fishing, swimming or just relaxing on our sandy/pebble beaches, the options are endless. This is a great location for any family function; birthday, wedding, reunion; let your mind wonder. Hiking/Biking Sicamous has over 23 listed trails in our area and a total of 92 groomed trails in the Shuswap Area, thanks to the Shuswap Trail Alliance and the CSRD. Each trail is rated from the easiest accessible to expert unlimited. The Monashee Range is just in our back yard, there are many areas to see in our mountains. The lakes, babbling brooks and rushing water falls with trails for hiking, biking, cross country skiing, snowmobiling to ATVs. Owlhead/Mara Mountain to the south east, Blue Lake to the east, Queest Mountain to the north, Larch Hills to the west; we are nestled in this four season recreation playground. Don’t forget about our beautiful golf courses in the area, the scenery if fantastic. Planning which season you would like to experience is your only challenge.

  • Kelowna and the Okanagan, with its skifields, beaches and wineries, is an 1-2 hour drive south of town on Highway 97A.
  • The Last Spike, Trans-Canada Highway, Craigellachie (located on Highway 1, 25 km east of Sicamous). Gift shop and info center open May-Oct. A plaque and display commemorate the site where the last spike in the Canadian Trans-Continental railway was hammered in.  edit
