Hora Sfakion is a tiny harbour city in the southwest of Crete. It has about 475 inhabitants, and is the capital of Sfakia region.

  • Hotel Stavris [1] is a walkers' hotel, famous for its hospitality since 1969. It offers simple and clean rooms.

  • There is a direct ferry to Agia Roumeli where you can start the trek through the Samaria Gorge.The travelling is nown as "The Lazy way" -

but most people name it "The Crazy way" People will arrive about noon and have to start walking in the hot sun up to the entrence of the park.
