San Salvador de Jujuy is the capital of Argentinas Jujuy Region.

Several companies run buses from Salta to Jujuy. The journey takes about 2.5h.

Several companies also run to and from the Bolivian border. Make sure you buy your bus ticket in the same country as the majority of the journey you are undertaking, since getting refunds or reductions for split/delayed journeys is difficult once you cross the border.

• Hostal Casa de Barro [1], Otero 294 esq. Belgrano, Tel: +54 388 4229578. Dorms: 45, matrimonial: 100. info@casadebarro.com.ar. Small but fairly cute hostel with minimalist/rustic design and only a handful of rooms. Central location, no wifi. Elderly lady who runs the place is a little forgetful, so best to confirm with the younger staff for bookings/essential items.
