- There are several basic shops in San Juan, selling soft drinks, chocolate bars and cookies. It is very hard to get fruit and/or vegetables here. Petrol can be bought by asking at the Su Amiga shop.

San Juan (3660m) has many basic accommodations without heating. Cots and blankets are provided. Some have heated showers for 5Bs.
- Hospedaje Max is opposite Hostal Magica. At Max you can get a recent and decent double room with private bathroom (hot water on request) for 80 Bolivianos per night. Nice and warm and with electricity for about two hours a day.
