Sälen [1] is a small town and ski resort in Dalarna.

Understand[edit]

Although overshadowed by it's bigger and more 'hip' cousin in the north, Åre, this ski-resort offers almost everything you need for a skiing vacation. There are also many activities that are family oriented.

Get in[edit]

Sälen has no airport. Rumors having been going around for years about extending the local airstrip for commercial traffic. Most tourists arrive at Mora-Siljan Airport, a small regional airport with connections only from Stockholm and Ängelholm (in Scania).

Get around[edit]

The SkiPassBus is free for all holders of the SkiPass and will easily take you from the hotel to the slope and back. Apart from the public bus #200 that goes from the actual village of Sälen and along the main road up to the ski resorts.
