Rocky Gap [1] is a big state park in Allegany County, Western Maryland. It is one of Western Maryland's most popular destinations for its outdoor activities, resort, and golf course.

From I-68 east of Cumberland, take exit 50 for Pleasant Valley Rd toward Rocky Gap St for the park entrance.

The most popular activities are fishing/boating on Lake Habeeb (non-motorized boats are available for rental) and, of course, the golf course. Hiking is another possibility, with plenty of short trails, as well as one four mile and one five mile hike.

In addition to the lodge, the State Park Service operates a private two bedroom chalet overlooking the lake, with a minimum two night stay in low season and minimum seven night stay in high season. $175/night.
