Rethymno is in the Greek island of Crete.

Crete is approximately 260 km long and 60 km wide.

Cities[edit]

  • Rethymno — this interesting town is mostly popular with families
  • Bali — not the Indonesian island, but a popular tourist village
  • Plakias — a stunning, long, gently shelving largely sandy beach
  • Margarites — a surprisingly beautiful and quiet town south of Rethymno off the old road to Heraklion, famous for its ceramic cottage industry. Look around the village before buying; some workshops are hidden gems, others are low-quality tourist traps.
  • Spili — A charming mountain village well known for its row of Venetian lion head fountains.
  • Triopetra— Triopetra is an impressively beautiful & very picturesque beach, with the most breathtaking views of the sea and unspoilt natural surroundings.
