If you are going to the ruins and are using mass transit, check in and leave your packs at El Amigo and head downtown to find the minibus that goes to La Union. I also saw a passenger pickup in transit, but I don't know where it leaves from.

Hotel El Amigo has friendly management, a pool and locked off street night parking for 100Q a double. Singles are 60Q and the rooms and bathrooms are very nice.
