The city of Rancho Palos Verdes [1] is one of four cities in the Palos Verdes Peninsula, a beautiful community in the South Bay area of Los Angeles County. Rancho Palos Verdes is know for spectacular ocean views of the entire South Bay and Santa Catalina Island.

From Pacific Coast Highway, take Hawthorne Boulevard to the top of the hill. Rancho Palos Verdes lies predominantly on the southern half of the peninsula.

The Palos Verdes Peninsula Transit Authority operates PVP Transit with four routes that connect into the Peninsula Center.

While it feels worlds away from busy city life, Rancho Palos Verdes is less than 30 miles from downtown Los Angeles. Allow at least 1.5 hours for this drive during rush hour, and consider taking Pacific Coast Highway or other side roads to avoid heavy freeway traffic.
