Putao

Putao is the north-most city of the Kachin State, Myanmar and Rewang people dominated place. It has the highest peak and the only snow fall region in the South-East Asia.
Putao can be reached only by air. A hydro power projected was also constructed near Duk Dang Village by the KIO after cease-fire agreement with the state peace and development council.

Putao is in a restricted area and it is only possible to visit by air and with a permit from MTT. Air Bagan [1] flies twice a week from Myitkyina. It is possible to join an organized tour to Putao (the travel agency arranges the permits) and it is uncertain whether permits are issued to independent travelers.
