Pune is the most-visited city among a few famous cities of Maharashtra. It is a very holy place for visitors. Of course, there are also other many reasons for tourists to visit this city like cultural background of the city, historical attractions, forts around Pune city, climate of the city and other visiting places and so on.

When we think about the tourist places in Pune; immediately, the first place comes to our mind that is Shaniwarwada. It was the palace fort of Peshwa, the prime minister of Maratha Empire. This palace was built in 1736 and it was the seat (Gadi) of Peshwa who ruled all over India from there until 1818 when British won the battle against them. Peshwas had to surrender themselves to the British. After 10 years from this defeat, this palace caught by fire and was totally destroyed due to this unexplained fire in 1828. Now, there are only surviving structures, which are maintained as a tourists place. This is a kind of historical background about this place.
