Pickering can be reached by the Go train, the Toronto area commuter train service, or by driving East on Highway 401 from Toronto.
Getting around in Pickering is quite difficult. The bus service is unreliable. Your best bet is to rent a car or take a taxi.
Visit Pickering Town center. Take a walk along the waterfront with a nice view of the nuclear power plant, or through one of the many forests, such as the Altona forest.
Pickering is like any other suburb. It has stores, malls, shops, and fast food places. The advantage is that it is less congested and has more green space than other Toronto suburbs.
