Phunphin

Phunphin is a district in Surat Thani, a province in the south of Thailand. Its central town is Tha Kham. It is surrounded by the districts of Tha Chang, Mueang Surat Thani, Ban Na Doem, Khian Sa, Khiri Rat Nikhom, and the district of Vibhavadi. Neighboring cities of Phunphin are Surat Thani, Tha Chang, Chaiya, Wiang Sa, and Don Sak. Other names for Phunphin are Amphoe Phunphin, Ban Phumphin, Ban Phun Phin and Punpin.

There are no tourist destinations in Phunphin. Instead, it serves as the transportation district of the Surat Thani province with its one railway intersection, three railway stations, and 4 rail stops. The main railway station is the Surat Thani Railway Station which is 12 kilometers from town. Other than the trains, bus stations are available between the station and the town proper. There is also the Asian highway AH2 or the Thai highway 41 serves as the main road in Phunphin and connects to the other nearby provinces. The Phuket International Airport is the nearest major airport in Phunphin. A local airport in the area is the Surat Thani Airport which is 5 miles from the center of Phunphin.

There are two rivers that can be found in the district and these are the Tapi and Phum Duang Rivers.
