The Northern suburbs is an area North of the Swan River in Perth.
There is a Joondalup train line which runs the length of the Freeway from Perth CBD. Unlike other Perth Train lines, the Joondalup train line (as well as its Mandurah continuation) use the underground station in the CBD, which is connected by an underpass to the old Perth Station. Trains run fairly frequently during the weekday worker commute, however outside of those times trains run roughly every 15 minutes to half an hour. Buses can be caught from most train stations along the train line, with the major Northern train/bus interchanges being: Warwick, Whitfords, Joondalup, Currambine and Clarkson. There is a Central Area Transit bus service (which is free of charge) for the Joondalup CBD area. This departs from the Joondalup train station.
