Pembroke Pines a town in Florida.
Suburban Pembroke Pines is a pretty, well-kept community of condominiums, lush townhouses, and expansive man-made lakes and shopping strips. As a typical rule, the further west one travels, the more opulence the lifestyle entails. Pembroke Pines is a decent shopping destination for South Florida, but functions mainly as a suburb for the more urban nearby Hollywood, Ft. Lauderdale, and Miami.
Pemroke Pines can be easily acccessed by either I-75, I-95, or the Florida Turnpike. On the Florida Turnpike, take exit 49 (Hollywood Boulevard/Pines Boulevard) and a left-hand turn. From I-95, take exits 19-22 in Hollywood: simply head west-bound. I-75 runs through the western part of the city, take exit 9A-B or 11A-B to get off at Pines Boulevard or Sheridan Street, respectively.
Broward County Transit runs route #7 along Pines Bolulevard hitting all the main shopping centers and Pembroke Lakes Mall, but due to the highly suburban nature of this citty, driving is nearly a must. Be careful though, as the local drivers have a poor reputation and ignore turn signals, road lines, speed limits, etc. Note that the intersection of Pines Boulevard and Flamingo Road is ranked among the ten most dangerous in the US.
