By Plane[edit]

The closest airport from Pekalongan is Ahmad Yani International Airport in Semarang. It's located on about 101 kilometers eastern of Pekalongan. Daily flights are available to many major cities in Indonesia. Garuda Indonesia, Lion Air, Sriwijaya Air, Air Asia, and Citilink fly to Jakarta daily. For International flights are only available for Kuala Lumpur and Singapore served by Air Asia and Silk Air (Singapore only).

To get to Pekalongan, take a taxi from the airport to get to Poncol Train Station. From the train station, take the Kaligung train which runs at 06.20, 09.10, 12.50 and 16.30 daily, or the Kamandaka train which runs at 05.15, 11.15 and 17.45 daily, or the Tawang Jaya train which runs at 14.00 daily

Xtrans company also provides shuttle van from Ahmad Yani International Airport to Pekalongan every 2 hours from 5 a.m. until 7 p.m. daily. The company's agent can be contacted by phone at 024-8419971.

Another option to get to Pekalongan is by bus. The recommended bus operators are Nusantara and Coyo. The office of the agents is located in Jalan Siliwangi, which is a few minutes from Ahmad Yani International Airport by taxi.

By Train[edit]

Pekalongan is connected to Jakarta, Bandung and Surabaya by train. There are many classes train that served.

From Gambir Train Station (Jakarta) all these train are executive classes. The names of train and schedules are: Argo Muria (07.00), Argo Anggrek Pagi (09.30), Bangunkarta (15.00), Argo Sindoro (16.15), Sembrani (19.15).

From Pasar Senen Train Station (Jakarta) all these train are bussines and economy classes. The names of train and schedules are: Menoreh (07.15), Jayabaya (12.00), Kertajaya (14.00), Matarmaja (13.40), Kertajaya (15.15), Gumarang (15.45), Brantas (16.00), Majapahit (18.30), Menoreh (19.45), Tawang Jaya (23.00).

From Bandung Train Station just served one train, that is Harina. Depart from Bandung Train Station at 21.25 daily and there are two classes, executive and bussines.

From Pasar Turi Station (Surabaya) served all classes train daily. The names of train and schedules are: Argo Anggrek (08.05), Jayabaya (14.15), Gumarang (15.30), Harina (16.15), Sembrani (17.50), Kertajaya (21.00).
